REVIEW: Uncut (Unexpected #4) by Claudia Burgoa

Uncut (Unexpected #4)

My brother and sister found their calling and people to share it with for the rest of their lives. Our parents haven’t said a thing, but I can read it on their faces.
What are you doing with your life, Matthew?
I’ve always been a songwriter but can no longer find the words. Everyone around me thinks I’m where I am in life because of my parents. I’m at a crossroads in my life and I don’t know which way to turn.
I don’t define my sexuality, I do what feels right. Love? Well, that is one melody I have yet to find the right notes to. Until them…

My childhood glittered with the lights of Hollywood while my adult life has been filled with the darkness of my ghosts and addictions. But all that is behind me and I am working on spinning the pain of my past into the promise of my future. Love? Well, that’s one addiction I have not yet dared to fool with.Until them…

I’m running from a life where my future was decided for me. What to wear. Which company to manage. Who to marry. One day, I snapped, and I haven’t been back since. Now I manage my own businesses and I am who I want to be. But behind closed doors, I am still alone and I still long for things that I’ve been taught to hate. Love? Well, that’s one merger I’ve never braved.Until them…

Warning: This book contains two sexy hunks and is not recommended for the faint of heart. This is a long, thought-provoking read which will work through the angst of finding love amidst past hurts and the pain associated with not belonging, not fitting in.

It's no secret that this series is one of my all time faves of this year. Discovering Claudia Burgoa -Thank you, Didi and Carol! - has made my reading experience all the more richer. If the Deckers were a real family, I'd be begging them to adopt me. I just love this family so much!!
This fourth book is Matthew Decker's, the third triplet, musician and all around wonderful guy. I kid you not, Mattie has a heart of gold. He's not perfect but damn close. He's lovable, funny, all alpha when he wants to be and has this strong desire to take care and protect people. He also believes that anything is possible. I truly can't believe I'm saying this because up until this point, Mason Bradley had my heart but Mattie,
...I was on my knees and falling hard for Mattie in this one!

This is an unconventional love story but so beautiful that my words will not do it justice.
This story if about not two people falling in love but three.

Mattie has always been one to not put labels on things and follow his attraction no matter if male or female. This time around, Mattie has a brief but seriously hot relationship with his brother's business partner, Tristan Cooperson. Tristan is a truly flawed and complex character. A man who, like Matt, is drawn to both men and women but was taught from a young age that it was wrong. He was wrong. He struggles to be comfortable in his own skin. Tristan is filled with shame, anger, fear and doesn't accept himself. Of course, it doesn't help that his family perpetuates these beliefs and cuts him down at every turn.
 photo image.jpg2_zpsxpcjw3tp.jpg

Matt and Tristan don't last as Mattie will not be put in the closet and Tristan doesn't know how to be out in the open. This is where Thea Dennis enters the picture. She's a bartender at a bar that Matt frequents and they've been friends for a while. But Matt now sees her and she him.

“Fuck, I’m in love with her and falling for him all at the same time.”
Thea has a dark and traumatic past that led to addiction and abuse. She's tried so hard to put her past behind her and is reborn. She's full of life, hope and love. She is the bridge to both Mattie and Tristan forming another bond as they are both drawn to her and her to them. She's the glue that binds these two men.

This is a beautifully raw and real story that I felt on a visceral level. It moved me and had me embracing another kind of love that's just as special and just as pure as any other.

There were some real hard and sad moments that had me wishing I could fix it all but also understanding that you have to go through the hurt to get to the light.
“I love you more than yesterday. I can’t wait for tomorrow. I’ll love you even more then.”

There's one more book in this special series and I'm scared.
I don't want these wonderful characters and their lives to end yet I so want to see what happens with Porter Kendrick. I'm not a huge fan of Porter's. I so want to know how Claudia will deal with his story. It's going to be so bittersweet.

I can't recommend this series enough. If you love those books that burrow into your soul and take up residence; those books that flit through your mind at the most unexpected times bringing a smile, smirk, laugh or tear, then you must READ. THIS.

**ARC generously provided by Claudia Burgoa in exchange for a honest review.**

Born on the mystical day of October 30th in the not so mystical lands of Mexico City, Claudia grew up with a childhood that resembled a caffeine-injected soap opera. Seventeen years ago she ventured to the lands of her techie husband—a.k.a. the U.S.—with their offspring to start a new adventure.

She now lives in Colorado working as a CFO for a small IT company, managing her household filled with three confused dogs, said nerd husband, two daughters wrought with fandoms and a son who thinks he’s the boss of the house. To survive she works continually to find purpose for the voices flitting through her head, plus she consumes high quantities of chocolate to keep the last threads of sanity intact.

Hi Guys,
Welcome to our end of year favorites of 2015!!!!
I have read some read goodies, some older reads that aren't from the new releases and some from authors that are either new to me or actually new authors and I took a chance on. This is the reason why I love to blog because I get to Fangirl and recommend my favorites. Sports Romance are one of my favourites and I got hooked to some new series. I delved into some real Tear Jerkers that changed my life (No Joke) but they made me believe and think on how to be a better person, plus have a very special place in my heart.  I read some Angsty special kind of books too that not all enjoy but they're a genre I love to delve into and I sure enjoyed them. Anyway a big thank you for taking the time to read my Fangirling and enjoy my Favorites.

I experienced many firsts this past year. I discovered many new authors, some that have been around for a while and others that are relatively new. I got hooked on a few Sport Romance series, fell in love with an eclectic and uniquely beautiful family, immersed myself in the worlds of bikers and the mafia and was blown away by this dark, thrilling yet erotic world where one woman stands for freedom and justice against a corrupt first-world government.

It was extremely hard to narrow it down to just 15 faves…on GR I’ve got a top 25 shelf for each year and that’s hard to do!...but here are my top picks for the year (in no particular order but by genre or theme)…I cheated with some and named the series because I simply couldn’t pick one book over another.

This list is in no particular order, for info and to purchase any just click the cover's

The Unexpected series by Claudia Burgoa
This series covers music, rock star, artists, family. I discovered Claudia this year and fell head over heels in love with this family and their lives. Every book has rocked me to the core.

Can we say that second chance romances are one of our ultimate favorite genres. You can feel the angst, the hurt and the love they're both feeling right?. Gah we will always pick these beautiful gems up.

Undeniably You by Jewel. E. Ann
This book is currently FREE on KU

This one is got a little bit of everything: Angst, Laughter, Uber-sexy-hot male, Romance. A truly magnificent story and all the things I love about romance novel.

My my my, I don't know how to explain this book!!! Fate do you believe in chances? Do you believe in a once in a billion moment love story? A passionate story about chances and making things happen for reasons unknown to you until they ACTUALLY HAPPEN. This is an EPIC LOVE STORY, I loved every bit of it, I laughed, I smiled, I was sat at the edge of my seat and I sobbed, all in equal measure. All I can say this is this book is on this list for a reason, I delved into an unknown author for me when I picked it up yet now Jewel has become an author I love to love.

Paper Hearts (Hearts series #2) by Claire Contreras

All I have to say is Jensen is one beautiful man and make sure you have LOTS of tissues when you read this.

Oh goodness... Jensen that's I can say he's one of my ultimate Forever Hero's. This is another EPIC read, it's angsty in that you just want them to be together but it's not over the top angsty just the right amount. I just wanted them to get their second chance. I also love Claire's writing, she took me to a place I want to visit, she is a storyteller I love to delve into. I devoured this one and Mia was an amazing Heroine likewise that I had not problems with in my opinion anyway.

When I was Yours by Samantha Towle
This is a second chance romance at it's best... eeek I love Samantha Towle and I was sitting on the edge of my seat throughout this one. It also made me happy at the end. Such a GORG story, an ideal getaway read. Can I just say ADAM-MINEEE.

Toxic by Kim Karr
Did I say I love Second Chance Romances LOL. This one had me gripped to my seat, guessing their relationship. It had heartbreak, lust and love. And this is the kind of read I Love to Savour.. sigh kick ass Heroine, it was very much a character driven story and I loved the hell out of it.

Vértié by Rachel Blaufeld

This one came out of nowhere and just made me feel SO good. ~ Suzanne.

The Traveling Man series by Jane Harvey-Berrick.

Well Jane was a new author for me this year, I know she's been a favorite for

many before but for me she was a new author to get to know. I adored this one because I went to the Carnival, it traveled through childhood memories then to adulthood and I was truly captured in time. I saw into a childhood romance that blossomed over years. Jane sure knows how to get your attention, capture your heart and story tell like no other.

This is one of those genres that make me jump in line straight away. Goodness it's a guilty pleasure to me, there are straight up college/sports romances here and also one's with angst, billionaire hero's added into it as well.

Sweet Home series by Tillie Cole
I started the year reading this series and boy did it start my year well, eeek these are on the grittier side of sports romance. The first two are sweet and sexy and everything I want to enjoy in this genre but as you get to sweet Fall you are reading the Carillo brothers and boy did they speak to my heart. Just make sure you have the tissues at the ready. Ideally I would suggest to read these in order but you need to at least read books 3,4 & 5 in order otherwise you just won't understand them as you go on. They are standalone's but these brothers that are TIGHT and therefore are connected in some way in the other books as you read on.

The Hook Up by Kristen Callihan
I love athletes. Seriously, what’s not to like? At least from afar. But this one, you must meet Drew. He’s a special kind of man.

The Friend Zone by Kristen Callihan
The Hook Up was also a top fav for me but in 2014, so of course I instantly jumped in when The Friend Zone came out. And boy was Gray Gray alllll man, he's an utimate BBF for me, this was a friend to lovers romance that if anything I loved even more than Drew.

The Deal by Elle Kennedy
Can I say be still my beating heart, lordy be Garrett. That is all.

Aflame by Penelope Douglas
Well this may be a Novella but its packed full of the punch. I LOVED Bully when I read it a few years ago, so this was just the icing on the cake. I loved this as much and one of the reasons I love Penelope's writing is because she keeps me on my toes throughout. This one was just the same. I just love Jared and Tates Raw relationship and I'm so happy I decided to go ahead with this one.

The End Game by Kate McCarthy
Kate McCarthy is a go to author ever since I read Fighting Redemption and this was another EPIC LOVE STORY from Kate. She really did show me what it's like for real football players and what they go through. This was such a real story, and I adored Brody and his beautiful broken heart. And Jordan talk about kickass heroine who faught for him.

The Driven Series by K.Bromberg
I know I know I'm late to the party, but boy did I devour this series. Ultimate Alpha hero. Can I say A to MotherFucking Z

Loving the White Liar by Kate Stewart
Kate’s story are so well written, moving and unique. This one was so special and will be a definite re-read for me.

Sustained (Legal Briefs #2) by Emma Chase

Emma Chase is magic when it comes to giving us a great story and laugh till you cry moments. Jake and Chelsea’s story was amazing and hilarious!

Bright Side by Kim Holden
This book broke me in two in the most EPIC WAY possible. And I met the most beautiful character, she was the sunshine in my world and taught me about life in that week. I will never forget Kate. Nor Kim who created Kate, I've got to know her over the year and she's one of the most generous and beautiful people out there.

Night Horde SoCal series by Susan Fanetti

I simply can’t pick one. Susan’s one of my fav authors and this series has all the reasons why I love motorcycle club books. Freedom. Family, Love. If you've not read Susan Fanetti, you really should!

Coda (The Submission Series #9) by C.D. Reiss
I met Jonathan & Monica in the Submission series back in 2013 and they were a fav then, but boy I devoured this book. Jonathan and Monica's love spoke loud and clear in this one, seriously the one thing that I felt throughout reading this long epilogue of sorts is their LOVE and NEED for each other.

Camouflage (Predator and Prey Series #1) by Angelica Chase

I love Angelica’s stories and have been jonesing for Taylor’s story for a while. This was all that and more.

Mercenaries series by Stylo Fantôme

If you want a high octane, sexy movie like read that unfolds on the pages, THIS IS THE SERIES TO READ!

Dante (The Filthy Marcellos #4) by Bethany-Kris
I’m a self-professed Mafia maiden and Bethany-Kris is so gifted a giving us raw, gritty, passionate and real mob stories. This series was awesome but Dante had me on my knees from the get-go.

Manwhore series by Katy Evans (Books 1 & 2)

I adore Katy's books but Dah-um I'm calling Dibs on Malcolm Saint. It's Pure Sinful and Sensual all rolled into one. M is pure Manley, Spell Binding and Intoxicating. I haven't had chance to read the novella yet so it's not on my list but that's not to say it's not good I'm aiming to read that STAT.

The Bound for Hell Trilogy by Kendra Leigh
There are times when I pick up books from authors I have followed for some time, and then there are the unknown indie authors I at times will try. This series was one of those books, Kendra's writing shocked me, I was hooked, I loved the plot and the Characters. Truly sinful, delicious and a guilty pleasure at its best. Kendra has also become a close friend in this community and I am looking forward to what she has in store for us next.

Misconduct by Penelope Douglas
Hands down Top Favorite author right here. Tyler Marek is something else, if you want sexy and forbidden then this is for sure your next read.

Bellator Saga by Cecilia London
If I had to name a sleeper of the year, this would be it.  This series knocked me out with how phenomenal it is and it keeps getting better and better.

Blood & Roses series by Callie Hart
I’ve got two words for you – ZETH MAYFAIR – if you have no clue what I’m talking about. Read. This. Series. Zeth joined the ranks of my book boyfriends...I LOVE this man! Zeth is panty-soaking, all out Alpha and I can’t get enough of him!

Three, Two, One (321) by JA Huss
Julie knows how to do these out there stories that stay with you. And that’s what I love about her and that’s why this one is among my faves this year. An unconventional love and suspenseful story that was both dark and light.

Deanna Madden series by A.R. Torre
I really enjoy mindfucks. Books that push my boundaries, give me clammy hands, heart palpitations and full-on flutters of anxiety. This is one scary, dark read that captivated me.

Happy reading and we hope, like us, you discover a few gems in our faves that touch you, move and make you feel wonderful things!! All the best for a happy, healthy and prosperous 2016!!
